Barbara ” Barb” Schmidt. Growing up in our close knit neighborhood. Unlike today’s communities or neighborhood. We were all connected to each other . Barb was the center piece of that special group of neighbors and friends. She had a son Jeff the love of her life.., but to name all the childhood friends growing up with Jeff that immediately became part of her family would take forever.
She will forever have a special place within my heart.
Years ago there was a show called the Wonder Years. The final show ended with this closure. It defines Our neighborhood and that special moment we had .
Growing up happens in a heartbeat. One day you’re in diapers, the next day you’re gone. But the childhood memories stay with you for the long haul. I remember a place, a town, a house like other houses, a yard like a lot of other yards, on a street like a lot of other streets. And the thing is, after all these years , I still look back, with wonder.
Barb you have touch the lives of so many people and will be forever grateful for allowing us to be part of your life.

Mom Barbara was the mother to us all growing up. She treated us all like we were her own. Back in those days, we all played with each other and ran the streets of Banklick, Russell, Holman, and 11th Street with no fear, because we had Mom’s like Barbara who had our back. One by one the old Cov family is moving on, but we will all meet again in Paradise. Love, Blessing, and Condolences to the family.

Barb was one of my families dearest friends. She went to the hospital with me when I had my son 44 years ago. My family loved Barb I was just sitting out Wal-Mart on a bench talking with her a few months ago. She was a very sweet woman and would do anything she could for you. Barb was one of my mom’s best friends.Barb lived across the street from us for years always came over and sat in the kitchen and talked with mom. We loved her a lot. She will be missed. My heart goes out to her family. So sorry
