It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Emma Grace Haacke, age 8, on Saturday, September 7th, 2024. Emma is the beloved daughter of Alexander and Erin (Fortner) Haacke. Emma is a bright light in the lives of all who met her. She loved the Catholic Faith, with deep devotions to the Brown Scapular and the Holy Rosary, with a knack for remembering Church Feast days. She enjoyed listening to the Saints Alive podcasts while she colored and had a genuine sense of humor and joy behind her beautiful smile. Emma was a friend to everyone she met, and often walked joyfully to daily Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes in Park Hills. She attended the Latin Rite Mass on Sundays with her family at Old St Mary's in Cincinnati. She was blessed with four loving grandparents and loved spending time at their homes, riding bikes, playing with her cousins, and enjoying family dinners. Emma loved Mother Marie-Cecile' with a keen interest in the Carmelite Daughters of Elias and the Home of the Mother, often saying she would be a sister herself one day. Emma is survived by her loving parents: Alexander and Erin and her siblings: Catherine Elizabeth (6), Fulton Alexander (4), Olivia Clare (2), and Mary Sophia (2mos). She is also survived by her grandparents: Chris and Becky Haacke and Rev Deacon Jim and Julie Fortner, as well as her great-grandparents: Jerry and Mary Lou Schneider and Andy Schroder along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. The Vigil Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, 11 East Southern Avenue, Covington (Latonia), KY 41015. Emma's Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday September 13, 2024 at 9:30 AM at Old St. Mary's Catholic Church, 123 East 13th Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202. Likewise, all are invited to join the family at her graveside committal service at St. John's Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, KY immediately following the Mass.
