Katherine "Kathy" Gammon, 83, of Latonia, KY, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, September 21, 2024. She was a retired secretary with Latonia Elementary School and a master gardener with the nickname of "Mother Nature" because of her love for all animals and nature. She loved cats with all her heart and was owned by many throughout the years. Cats could find her house from miles away and would come to stay. She was definitely the epitome of a "crazy cat lady". Kathy was a very passionate gardener, beautifying her house and yard, but also volunteering at Baker Hunt Art and Cultural Center where she made many new friends that shared her love of gardening. She had a very caring heart, giving generously to many charities including her family and friends. In fact, a heart was her signature symbol. She was preceded in death by her husband: Frank Allen Gammon, Sr. and son: Frank Allen Gammon, Jr. She is survived by her daughter: Judy Gammon; son: William "Billy" Gammon and 5 grandchildren. Visitation will take place on Friday, September 27, 2024 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 3227 Dixie Highway, Erlanger, KY 41018. Interment: Forest Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers: Memorials are suggested to Kenton County Animal Services, 1020 Mary Laidley Road, Covington, KY 41017. Connley Brothers Funeral Home in Latonia, KY is serving the family. Online condolences may be expressed on Facebook or at www.connleybrothersfuneralhome.com

Oma, as your first born grandson, I hold very dearly 36 years of memories with you. My childhood was very unique and if it wasn't for You and Judy, I would know nothing about animals, nature, or God. I'm so thankful for the days we got to spend together. Particularly when I was younger. Helping you garden, or crushing all the cans, helping decorate for holidays, Walking the Canaveral National Seashore, heading out to Merritt Island wildlife Refuge and Black Rock, Kayaking At Blue Springs State Park, hiking at that Majestical natural bridge in Kentucky, walking the seashores at night of South Patrick Shores and watching the sea turtles the eggs, hiking through and Snorkeling Sebastian Inlet, Archie Carr, And still one of my favorites, Pelican Island down in Vero Beach. This doesn't even scratch the surface of what you two did for Jennifer and I. I also want to thank you for setting up a phone number when we were younger, so we can just reach out to you whenever, 1-800-BIG-LAMP. Let's not forget all Halloweens, Christmas's, Thanksgivings, Birthdays (So Many)!, holidays and then just the days where you were just "Oma". I have some cards left over from you, but unfortunately a lot of the pictures and stuff that I had was lost in the Almeda fire in 2020. I know that you did the best you can with Frank, Judy, Billy, your stubborn grandson and you're distant granddaughter. I truly am forever grateful. You're finally home with Dad and Opa. Even 6 years later his death still is just so hard on me. And I promise i'm trying to get him home. This is something I have not given up on. And only recently have I made ground with it. So as you guys are all together now, i just want to say thank you to each and everyone of you. I love each and every one of you. I hope ya'll stay blessed and I'm praying for every single one of you. I will include a link with some pictures for the family to download if they don't have it, but this is very limited and Judy definitely has 99% of the others.
