Richard "Rich" Melvin Oliver, 88, of Florence, KY, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025. He was a member of St. Mary Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Covington, KY. Rich owned and operated a furniture upholstery shop in Florence, KY. He loved plants, gardening and collecting religious icons. Rich also enjoyed shopping and attending local state fairs. He was very proud of being awarded a blue ribbon for his needlework at the Boone County fair. Rich really enjoyed his weekly outings with his niece, Linda Steinfort. Rich was preceded in death by his wife: Carole Ruth Oliver and 6 siblings. He is survived by his children: Elizabeth Oliver, Dr. Richard (Michael Kelley) Oliver and Melissa (Randy) Manning and grandchildren: Tyler (Megan) Manning and Spencer (Herb Castillo) Manning. Rich is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Memorial Visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 from 9:30 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Mary Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption, 1140 Madison Avenue, Covington, KY 41011. Entombment will follow at Mother of God Cemetery in Fort Wright, KY. Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Healthcare Hospice, 483 South Loop Road, Edgewood, KY 41017.
