Sara Blanton Townsend, 83, of Latonia, KY, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. She was a bus driver with the Covington City School System with 25+ years of service. Prior to working for the school system, she worked in security with the Greater Cincinnati International Airport. Sara enjoyed sketching, driving, writing poems and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Bob Townsend and son: Tim Townsend. Sara is survived by her children: Brad (Becky) Townsend, Karen "Kae" Kittleman and Laura (Mike) Pooner as well as multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, 11 East Southern Avenue, Covington (Latonia), KY 41015 from 11:00 AM until the Memorial Service at 1:00 PM. Interment: Mother of God Cemetery, Ft. Wright, KY. Memorials are suggested to DCCH Center for Children and Families, 75 Orphanage Road, Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky 41017. I’ll forever miss you Aunt Sara! I am so glad I got to visit w you a couple weeks ago and that my youngest son Joe and my other sons Cameron & Dylan met you when you was their bus driver. I’ll always remember & cherish the weekend visits at yours & Uncle Bobs when I was little . You will truly be missed . I love you so much give Ninny and my dad a hug and kiss for me ❤️❤️❤️

My condolences to her family and friends. I worked with Sara years ago and she was an awesome woman. My mom worked with Sara as a bus driver for many years. And I always thought it was cute that Sara would always say that my Sarah was her name sake.
